Amanda and Alex met in February of 2023 when we both took a gamble at online dating. Bumble was the preferred choice due to being the least terrible online dating option at the time. Our first date was at a Spanish Tapas restaurant, which Alex chose to celebrate Amanda’s recent trip to Portugal. The sparks flew immediately and conversation flowed until we had closed the restaurant.

Love blossomed quickly! We bonded over our love of travel, owning our own bowling balls, and our mutual hatred of uncomfortable socks. Amanda took Alex on his first trip to NYC, where we visited museums and had a romantic walk on a rainy, trash filled highway through Central Park. Later that night, Amanda found out she was officially in a relationship when Alex changed his Facebook relationship status.

The next two years of dating were spent traveling to many places near and far. We enjoyed Durham and Asheville North Carolina where Amanda was able to meet many of Alex’s friends. We spent a weekend getaway in the Poconos, sunny Aruba, a romantic getaway to Italy, and a fun trip to quirky Pidgeon Forge, TN to celebrate Amanda’s birthday. Of course there were also countless holidays, costumes, mushroom festivals, breweries, and awkward-verging-on-uncomfortable magician/comedy variety acts in between.

In October of 2024, we were vacationing in Switzerland when Alex popped the question! After an enchanting stroll along the waters of Montreux’s Lake Genva to visit the Freddie Mercury statue, we sat by the water as Alex proposed. Champagne and celebration followed, and we hope you can continue to celebrate our love on November 1st, 2025 at our wedding in Mendenhall, Pennsylvania.
